Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) provides the framework for a whole- school evidence-based approach to behaviour support. PBL takes an instructional approach to behaviour, recognising that schools need to teach the behaviours needed for success at school and beyond. School-wide PBL provides the foundations for Classroom PBL, which can be described as the consistent implementation of proactive, research-informed practices for classroom management.
Mudgeeraba State Special School is committed to
providing an Honest, Caring and Respectful teaching and learning environment
for both staff and students. Our school has
adopted Positive Behaviour for Learning as an evidence based proactive and
reflective, student based learning approach.
We adhere to our three (3) core values with explicit teaching behaviours
which underpin these values.
There are ten (10) Essential Skills for Classroom Management which have been unpacked by the PBL committee including video vignettes for your perusal which can be followed up with coaching sessions detailing the balance of your classroom language which may assist and direct you to obtain a more connected classroom environment.
