Curriculum

The curriculum offerings of Mudgeeraba Special School are drawn from the mandated curricula of the Australian curriculum for students in Prep to Year 10 and Queensland Certificate of Individual Achievement Organisers for Year 11 and 12 senior schooling. Staff plan their teaching and learning approach to core learnings within a real-life functional context.

The intended curriculum of students attends to individual learning goals developed through the Individual Curriculum Plan (ICP) process to maximise access and participation for Prep to Year 10 linked to the Australian Curriculum and General Capabilities. Careful planning occurs, ensuring that the curriculum is age and phase appropriate according to the developmental levels of our students. Students in Year 10 to 12 develop a Personal Future Action Plan (PFAP)

The Mudgeeraba Special School curriculum is also academically and socially appropriate and has been developed to maximise the educational outcomes of every student.

A student focused, culturally inclusive approach lies at the heart of curriculum development at our school.
