There are a range of Prep options for students with disabilities depending on their educational support needs. Students with disabilities who are of Prep eligible age will be included in local Prep classes wherever possible.

Advice about the available options can be sought from the principal of Mudgeeraba Special School or the Principal Education Officer (Student Services) at the regional office.

Options include:

  • attendance at a full-time Prep program with support from specialist teachers

  • attendance at a combined Prep and Early Childhood Development Program (ECDP) and, for a small number of children

  • attendance at an Early Childhood Development Program (ECDP) or special school (approved to provide early childhood development programs) for an individualised program.

School leaders monitor the effectiveness of the school's Prep program and ensure that all students have access to a well-planned, developmentally appropriate, balanced educational program. This includes access to targeted programs and resources to scaffold and extend the range of student's learning.
